SHED47 RAILWAY RESTORATION GROUP
DUNFERMLINE'S RAILWAY STORY
2024
In early 2023, I was approached by Shed47 to help produce a full museum display exploring Dunfermline's extensive railway history. Over the course of the next 18 months, I designed the space, the displays and the identity of the museum and worked with a very small team from the group to build it all. I incorporated various different ways to deliver information to visitors: sign painting, interactive displays, immersive audio and smells, a digital archive, and much more. The displays take the visitor along a timeline of history, beginning in the middle ages and covering right up until modern day. It officially opened in the Autumn of 2024, however there are still new displays to be added over winter, including a working model railway, more interactive elements aimed at younger visitors and a pull-out drawer mini-exhibition that can travel to other locations.
